International Graduate Admissions

Graduate International Admission Requirements

These general admission steps apply to international graduate applicants studying through a participating 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÊÓƵ location or the University HUB pathway. Your selected degree may require additional program-specific materials.

Step 1

Apply to 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÊÓƵ

Submit your application to 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÊÓƵ Baptist University and identify the graduate program, study location, or University HUB pathway you plan to pursue.

Step 2

Submit Evaluated Transcripts

Academic records completed outside the United States must be evaluated by an approved credential evaluation service. Graduate applicants should request a course-by-course evaluation.

Common evaluation options

  • IEE provides credential evaluation and document translation services.
  • WES evaluates international academic credentials for graduate study in the United States.
  • Formerly known as SpanTran, this provider offers course-by-course academic credential evaluations.
  • InCred provides credential evaluations for international students participating in 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÊÓƵ athletics.

Submit academic records from every college or university attended. Students must provide the original academic record, translation, and completed course-by-course evaluation.

Step 3

Submit Admission and Immigration Documents

Submit the documents needed to complete your graduate admission file and, when applicable, begin the F-1 immigration process.

  • Bank Statement or Affidavit: The document must show an available balance and be dated within the last six months. An affidavit must include the bank emblem, account value, and a bank official’s signature.
  • English Proficiency Test Result, if required: Submit Duolingo, IELTS, TOEFL iBT, or PTE results. Select 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÊÓƵ Baptist University as the recipient of your official scores.
  • Valid Passport and Visa: Upload a clear copy of your valid passport and, when applicable, your current visa. An expired passport may delay admission processing or the issuance of immigration documents.

Financial Support Documents

Financial support documents outline the estimated cost of attendance and the student’s responsibility for any remaining balance. 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÊÓƵ will provide the required forms during the admission process.

Students seeking F-1 status must complete all required admission and financial documentation before 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÊÓƵ can issue an I-20 or other applicable immigration documentation.

Step 4

Complete Program-Specific Requirements

Some graduate and doctoral programs require additional materials beyond the general international admission requirements.

  • Official transcripts required by the program
  • Professional résumé or curriculum vitae
  • Letters of recommendation
  • Statement of purpose or written essay
  • Licensure, certification, or work history
  • Interview or departmental review
Requirements vary by program.

Review the admission requirements for your selected degree and submit any requested materials to the appropriate academic department.

Requirements May Vary by Pathway

Residency schedules, participating locations, immigration contacts, and student request forms may differ for non-UHUB, University HUB, and doctoral students. Review the section for your pathway before submitting documents.

Helpful Information

Graduate International Student FAQs

Find answers to common questions about academic records, transfer credit, financial resources, and employment authorization.

How do I submit my transcripts to 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÊÓƵ?

Official U.S. transcripts may be submitted electronically through an approved transcript service or sent directly to 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÊÓƵ by the issuing institution.

Academic records completed outside the United States must be evaluated by an approved credential evaluation provider. Graduate applicants should request a course-by-course evaluation and follow the provider’s instructions for sending the completed evaluation and supporting records to 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÊÓƵ.

What is CPT and how do I apply?

Curricular Practical Training, commonly called CPT, allows eligible F-1 students to participate in employment or an internship that is directly related to their academic program.

Students generally must complete one full academic year before becoming eligible. CPT requires approval for each term, and students must work with their Designated School Official before beginning employment.

Do not begin working until your CPT has been approved and your updated Form I-20 has been issued.

Can I transfer graduate credits to 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÊÓƵ?

Graduate transfer credit may be considered when prior coursework is comparable in academic level, content, credit hours, and learning outcomes to the requirements of the selected 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÊÓƵ program.

Official transcripts are required. The appropriate academic school or department will review the coursework and determine whether it may be applied to the student’s degree plan.

Transfer-credit limits and approval requirements may vary by graduate or doctoral program.

Does 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÊÓƵ offer financial assistance for international students?

Scholarship availability, tuition assistance, and payment options may vary by program, location, and academic term.

International students should contact their admissions representative and 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÊÓƵ’s Financial Aid Office to review current opportunities and determine which resources may be available.

Review Tuition and Financial Information
Can I work while studying in the United States?

F-1 students may be eligible for limited on-campus employment and for approved practical training related to their field of study.

Off-campus employment generally requires prior authorization through Curricular Practical Training, Optional Practical Training, or another qualifying employment category.

Speak with your Designated School Official before accepting a job or beginning any employment. Unauthorized employment may jeopardize your F-1 status.
