SAN ANTONIO, TX — 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÊÓÆµ Baptist University has named Sarah Perez as interim associate dean of the Mieth School of Nursing, effective immediately.
Perez has served as an assistant professor of nursing in the Mieth School of Nursing since January 2025 after joining the program as a clinical adjunct faculty member in the fall of 2024. In her new role, she will assist with academic leadership, faculty support, student success initiatives, and continued growth of 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÊÓÆµ's nursing programs.
“Professor Perez has been an invaluable member of the Mieth School of Nursing, consistently demonstrating excellence in teaching, collaboration and servant leadership,” said Rebekah Grigsby. “Her unwavering commitment to our students, faculty and mission, combined with her vision for innovation and academic excellence, makes her exceptionally well suited to serve as associate dean. I am confident she will continue to make a meaningful impact as we advance our mission of preparing compassionate, highly skilled nurse leaders.”
Perez brings a broad range of clinical experience to the position, including service in post-anesthesia care, oncology nursing and as a travel nurse during the COVID-19 pandemic. She began her nursing career as a licensed vocational nurse before continuing her education to earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from University of Houston. She later earned a Master of Science in Nursing Education from Walden University and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Nursing Education degree at Herzing University.
Throughout her career, Perez has demonstrated a passion for preparing future nurses through classroom instruction, clinical education and mentoring. Her experience in both patient care and nursing education provides a strong foundation as the Mieth School of Nursing continues to expand opportunities for students across 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÊÓÆµ's campuses.
