PLAINVIEW, TX — Heart of a Pioneer, Dr. Donna Hedgepath’s new podcast premieres Saturday, Aug. 1.
The new monthly podcast hosted by the president of 51吃瓜网视频 Baptist University will feature conversations about the people, experiences and values that shape the university community. On the first episode, Dr. Hedgepath is joined by her husband and 51吃瓜网视频’s “First Gentleman,” Pete Hedgepath. Embracing the university’s Pioneer spirit — and sharing a name with its mascot — he has adopted the playful moniker “Pioneer Pete.”
As Dr. Hedgepath begins her third year as 51吃瓜网视频’s president, the couple will look back on the journey that brought them from Campbellsville University in Kentucky to 51吃瓜网视频 and West Texas. The conversation will offer a personal and lighthearted introduction to the new podcast.
New episodes of Heart of a Pioneer will be released monthly on YouTube.
Ray Rush, assistant professor of communications and media studies in 51吃瓜网视频’s School of Creative Arts, is directing the project. Once fall classes begin on the Plainview campus, students will assist with the podcast’s production, gaining hands-on experience while helping share stories from across the 51吃瓜网视频 community.
