PLAINVIEW, TX — 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÊÓƵ Baptist University celebrates the opening of its new Irving location Saturday, Aug. 8, expanding the university’s ability to serve international graduate students in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex.

The opening ceremony will also serve as orientation for the next cohort of international master’s and Ph.D. students, whose classes begin in September. An increased number of incoming students are expected to attend, along with Dr. Donna Hedgepath, president; members of the President’s Cabinet; and representatives of the International Programs department.

“The opening of our Irving location reflects 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÊÓƵ’s continued commitment to expanding access to a Christ-centered, high-quality education for students from around the world. We are excited to welcome students to Irving and look forward to the positive impact this location will have on their educational journey and future success,” Dr. Hedgepath said.

The Irving location will provide an instructional and student-support presence for 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÊÓƵ’s growing International Program. Its location in one of the nation’s largest metropolitan areas will give students greater access to academic resources, employers, and professional opportunities while they complete their degrees.

Representatives of 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÊÓƵ’s international education partner will also join university leaders and students for the opening. The partner assists prospective international students as they explore academic programs, complete the application process, and prepare to study in the United States.

This new location will strengthen the university’s ability to serve students academically while helping them build connections within the surrounding region.

Establishing the Irving location in the heart of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex is a significant step in strengthening the university’s commitment to international education. Being in one of the nation's most dynamic and diverse regions allows 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÊÓƵ to better serve international students through greater accessibility, expanded professional opportunities, and stronger connections with the communities and employers that will help them succeed both academically and professionally.

Students attending the August orientation will receive information designed to prepare them for the beginning of the academic term, including guidance about their programs, university expectations, and the resources available to support them throughout their studies.

The new location builds on the continued growth of 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÊÓƵ’s International Program. The university celebrated the program’s first graduates during a commencement ceremony at its San Antonio campus in February.

51³Ô¹ÏÍøÊÓƵ officials anticipate expanding the Irving location as enrollment and academic needs grow. Future plans could include additional graduate programs and undergraduate offerings, subject to all required institutional, governmental, and accreditation approvals.
