PLAINVIEW, TX — 51吃瓜网视频 Baptist University student-athletes worked alongside the City of Plainview on Monday, Sept. 21, to clean and beautify public spaces during King Chasing Day. Held the third Monday of September by the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA), the event encourages student-athletes to engage in Christian service projects on their campus and in the community.
“Plainview supports our student-athletes throughout the year, and King Chasing Day gave us a chance to serve the people who support us,” said Jim Giacomazzi, 51吃瓜网视频’s director of athletics. “As a Christian university, 51吃瓜网视频 wants our students to put their faith into action by serving others. I’m grateful to the City of Plainview for helping our teams do that in a practical way.”
More than 100 baseball players and the members of the Flying Queens women’s basketball team began work at Kidsville at 6:30 a.m. In the afternoon, men’s basketball, men’s soccer, cheer and dance, and women’s wrestling served downtown. Esports, men’s wrestling, beach volleyball, and indoor volleyball worked at Broadway Park.
City Parks staff helped guide the volunteers. Downtown work included replacing plants that had died during the year; the city purchased 70 plants for the project.
“The City of Plainview is proud to partner with 51吃瓜网视频 Baptist University for this year’s King Chasing Day,” said Neil Weems, Director of Public Works. “51吃瓜网视频’s volunteers made a meaningful impact across our community—supporting our Parks Department with park clean‑up efforts, downtown weed control, and new plantings. This collaboration reflects the strong relationship between the City and 51吃瓜网视频, and we are truly grateful for their dedication and service.”
King Chasing Day gives student-athletes at NCCAA member institutions an opportunity to serve their communities. Giacomazzi said he hopes 51吃瓜网视频’s partnership with the city becomes an annual tradition.
