Alpha Phi Sigma - Pi Zeta Upsilon

Alpha Phi Sigma is the only Criminal Justice Honor Society, is a certified member of the Association of College Honor Societies, and is affiliated with the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences. Additionally, Alpha Phi Sigma recognizes academic excellence of undergraduate and graduate students of Criminal Justice, as well as Juris Doctor students. The goals of Alpha Phi Sigma are to honor and promote academic excellence, community service, educational leadership, and unity.

The Pi Zeta Upsilon Chapter was chartered and established in 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÊÓÆµ Baptist University of Spring 2024 with its first 16 originated members also including international members from the Hawaii and American Samoa external campus. The Chapter recruits its members every Spring and meets monthly via Zoom or Google Meet.

Membership Requirements:

A. Bachelors/Undergraduates:

  1. Minimum GPA of 3.2 on a 4.0 scale (GPA wise)
  2. Minimum of 3.2 GPA in criminal justice related fields (major wise)
  3. Rank in the top 35% of their class
  4. Major/Minor declared equivalent to the criminal justice or related fields
  5. Completed 45 semester hours
  6. Minimum of 4 courses of the above coursework shall be in the criminal justice field
  7. Students with an Associates degree in Criminal Justice and are currently enrolled in a bachelor’s program, with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2 on a 4.0 scale are eligible for membership.

 

B. Masters/Grad School Students:

  1. Shall be enrolled at the time of application in a Master’s program in the Criminal Justice field
  2. In the institution represented by the chapter, have completed four courses, and have a minimum GPA of 3.4 on 4.0 scale.
  3. Up to three undergraduate courses in Criminal Justice may be used to satisfy the four-course requirement.
  4. These courses must equate to a 3.4 GPA or higher, and the cumulative undergraduate degree program GPA is a 3.2 or higher.
  5. All Masters level coursework must equate to a 3.4 GPA or higher at the institution in which the student is enrolled.
