Assistant Coach of Softball
LOCATION: 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÊÓÆµ Baptist University WBU (Plainview campus)
DEPARTMENT: Intercollegiate Athletics
SUPERVISED BY: Athletic Director and Head Coach of Softball
POSITIONS SUPERVISED: Student Managers and Student Assistants
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: The Assistant Coach of Softball would be responsible for assisting with all aspects of the WBU softball program.
SPECIFIC TASKS AND DUTIES:
- A commitment to a Christian lifestyle and coaching from a Christian perspective is essential.
- In coordination with Head Coach, facilitating a program culture of trust and teamwork.
- Adhering to all policies and procedures of NAIA, the SAC and WBU.
- Assisting in setting up and running practices.
- Facilitating a program and/or practices specific to the position.
- Administrating arrangements for scheduling use of facilities and vehicles through the Athletic Director and Executive Director of Property Management.
- Helping to coordinate the recruitment of student-athletes who have the ability and potential athletically and academically.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- Bachelor Degree preferred
Experience and Knowledge:
- Knowledge and understanding of women’s softball
- Knowledge and understanding of pitching preferred
- Strength and Conditioning background/experience preferred
- Knowledge of specific skills and techniques
- Continued learning and training mechanics, skills, and drills
- Knowledge of NAIA and SAC regulations and guidelines governing the recruitment and retention of student-athletes.
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to communicate effectively with all personnel involved in the collegiate environment from student-athletes to administrators.
- Ability to coordinate and guide student-athletes.
- Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgements.
- Ability to understand and enforce safety protocol.
- Possess strong communication skills orally with all personnel as related to the university.
Working Conditions:
- Work involves moderate physical activity in wide-ranging weather conditions.
- Modeling techniques and skills requiring moderate mobility and flexibility and lifting.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Employment is subject to an introductory period to monitor employee performance. If hired, the prospective employee must present documentation within three (3) days of hire date to establish identity and employment eligibility as required by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Employee must be able and willing to travel and provide recruitment assistance to external campuses. Must be able to operate a licensed motor vehicle, have access to a dependable motor vehicle, and possess a valid state driver’s license. Must have and maintain a satisfactory driver’s record.
