Joshua Tucker came to 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÊÓƵ focused intently on basketball but not sure he would even stay past the first year. He wanted to play his sport, but the rest of the future was pretty fuzzy.

"But the moment I got here, everything changed. I immediately felt at home. The people at 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÊÓƵ welcomed me with open arms, and I knew I had found a place where I belonged," said Joshua, who earned his BA degree in Digital Multimedia in May 2025. "As I look back on my time here, so many favorite memories come to mind. One of the highlights was beating Langston—ranked #1 at the time—this past season. The energy in that locker room after the win was electric, and I’ll never forget the celebration that followed. Moments like that are more than just wins on the court—they're memories that will last a lifetime."

While basketball was important to Joshua, he said the growth in his faith was more vital in shaping him into the young man he is now. He once defined himself mostly as an athlete, but through participation in Fellowship of Christian Athletes and work with mentors like Donnei Brown, he was challenged to see things differently.

"They challenged me and helped me grow—not just as a student or athlete, but as a man of God. I had no choice but to grow mentally and spiritually because I was surrounded by people who genuinely cared and lived out their faith," said Joshua. Now, as he steps into a career as coach and director at a private school in Fort Worth, Joshua is confident of the future and thankful for those who made his WBU experience possible.

"This wouldn’t be possible without you—your donations, your support, and your belief in students like me. I promise to make your investment worthwhile, and I hope to one day be in a position to give back in the same way," he says. "I cannot thank you enough for your investment—not just in 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÊÓƵ, but in the future of students, families, and society as a whole."
