SUBJECT:      Students with a Disability

In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA), it is the policy of 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÊÓƵ Baptist University that no otherwise qualified person with a disability be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subject to discrimination under any educational program or activity in the university.

51³Ô¹ÏÍøÊÓƵ Baptist University encourages students with a disability to attend the university in pursuit of their own individual goals. To this end, the university is committed to providing students a physically accessible environment, minimizing or eliminating any competitive disadvantages which may exist, and providing a coordinated program of services that allows students with disabilities to be integrated into campus life.

Such university services as student orientation, academic advisement, counseling, financial aid and registration are conducted in facilities which are fully accessible to students with a disability. Although the majority of classes and university services, such as student orientation, academic advisement, counseling, financial aid, and registration are held in facilities which are fully accessible, in those few instances where this is not the case, appropriate accommodations will be made.

The attachment is provided in support of this policy – Students with a Disability: Attachment A – Student Disability Handbook.

The Office of Student Disability Services will serve as the contact point for information related to assistive services.
