HARLINGEN – 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÊÓÆµ Baptist University’s Rio Grande Valley campus will celebrate its graduating class during commencement exercises, scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 14, at the Valley Baptist Mission Education Center in Harlingen.
The ceremony will recognize graduates receiving associate’s, bachelor’s, and master’s degrees. Dr. Donna Hedgepath, President of 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÊÓÆµ Baptist University, will serve as commencement speaker and confer degrees upon the graduates. Scripture reading and invocation, as well as the benediction, will be offered by the Rev Robert Rodriguez, who serves as pastor of Primera Iglesia Bautista in Harlingen. Lilly Munoz will sing the National Anthem.
Dr. Glenn Simmons, Executive Director and Campus Dean, will lead the program and present the candidates. Dr. David Bishop, Vice President of External Campuses, will formally confer the degrees.
One graduate, Grecia Kristella Rodriguez, will be recognized with the Rio Grande Valley Pioneer Community Leadership Award, which honors exemplary leadership and service to the local community.
Clarissa Achtsam is a candidate for the Master of Arts in History degree.
Candidates for the Bachelor of Applied Science degree are Martin V. Castañeda, Jennifer De Leon, Tiffany Ann Dosal, Jeanette Marie Flores, Enrique Hernandez, Julissa Ramirez, Britany Rodriguez, Grecia Kristella Rodriguez, Katrina Salinas, Angelica D. Sandoval, and Steven Szymoniak.
Receiving the Associate of Applied Science degree is Aide Sanchez-Cruz.
