QEP webpage launched, forum to spark ideas for student success

PLAINVIEW — 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÊÓƵ Baptist University has launched a new Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) webpage — wbu.edu/qep — to engage students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members in shaping the university’s next major initiative focused on student learning and success.

The QEP is an essential component of 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÊÓƵ’s accreditation process with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). It serves as a five-year plan aimed at enhancing student outcomes. The new webpage provides information about previous QEPs, outlines the current selection process, and invites members of the 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÊÓƵ community to submit their own ideas for improving the student experience.

To promote new ideas and encourage dialogue, the university will host a QEP Discussion Forum at 2 p.m., Nov. 18, 2025, in Studio B (Room 119) of the Harral Creative Arts Complex on the Plainview campus. The session is open to students, faculty, staff, and community members and will also be livestreamed for those unable to attend in person.

“This is a great opportunity for the 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÊÓƵ community to come together and dream big about what student success can look like,” said Dr. Autumn Lass, chair of the QEP Committee. “We want to hear everyone’s ideas — from classroom innovations to campus experiences that make learning more meaningful.”

The QEP process will include two rounds of submissions. Initial proposals will be reviewed and narrowed down to a group of finalists in early 2026. Those finalists will advance to a second round of evaluation, where the top three proposals will receive cash awards — $1,000 for first place, $750 for second, and $500 for third. The deadline for initial proposal submissions is Jan. 15, 2026.

By creating a central space for participation and conversation, the new QEP webpage aims to make the selection process more inclusive and transparent while inspiring creative, data-driven ideas that strengthen the student experience.
