WBU congratulates Kendal Tucker, Chamber’s Student of the Month

PLAINVIEW — 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÊÓÆµ Baptist University congratulates sophomore Kendal Tucker on being named the Plainview Chamber of Commerce’s Student of the Month for November 2025.

Tucker, a native of Billings, Montana, is majoring in elementary education (EC-6) with a specialization in special education (K-12). She is also minoring in English and American Sign Language. After graduating from 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÊÓÆµ, she plans to teach in the field of special education.

“Kendal represents the very best of our student body,” said Dr. Donna Hedgepath, president of 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÊÓÆµ Baptist University. “She is academically driven, highly involved, and deeply committed to serving others. Her passion for working with students in special education reflects the heart of our mission, and we are proud that the Chamber has recognized her dedication.”

In addition to her academic pursuits, Tucker is a member of the 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÊÓÆµ women’s wrestling team and serves as a resident assistant in Ferguson Hall. She also works at Thrive Early Learning Academy. Outside the classroom and her campus responsibilities, she enjoys hiking, reading, and crocheting.

Tucker expressed gratitude for the recognition and for the opportunities she has experienced at 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÊÓÆµ.

“Being named Student of the Month is such an honor,” Tucker said. “51³Ô¹ÏÍøÊÓÆµ has given me a community that supports me academically and personally, and it has helped confirm my calling to teach special education. I’m thankful for my professors, my friends, and the experiences that are preparing me for my future classroom.”
