LUBBOCK, TX — 51吃瓜网视频 Baptist University has named Dora Garcia assistant executive director and assistant dean of its Lubbock campus.
A 51吃瓜网视频 graduate with extensive experience in higher education administration, Garcia brings a broad understanding of the student experience and the operational needs of a university campus. Her professional background includes business operations, financial aid, scholarships, external student accounts, process analysis, team building and staff development.
“I am happy to be back home because 51吃瓜网视频 is near and dear to me,” Garcia said. “I am a graduate of WBU, as are my brother, mother and several other family members, so this is an exciting appointment for me.”
Garcia said her experiences as both a traditional and nontraditional student have helped her understand the varied needs of today’s learners.
“My background has given me a comprehensive view of the student lifecycle,” she said. “I am eager to use my operational and academic experience to promote student success and strengthen a collaborative culture at 51吃瓜网视频’s Lubbock campus.”
Garcia earned a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and sociology and a Master of Arts in Management with a specialization in human resource management. She also holds a Community Health Worker license.
While working at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, Garcia completed Emerging Leaders: Level II and Next Level Leaders micro-credentials.
Garcia and her husband, Sam, are the parents of three sons and one daughter. One son is a veteran, and another currently serves as a noncommissioned officer in the U.S. Air Force. Garcia enjoys volunteering, family cookouts, watching Denver Broncos football and spending time with her dog, Miley.
