Federal Direct PLUS Loan for Graduate/Professional Students

The Federal Direct PLUS Loan for Graduate/Professional Students has been eliminated and will no longer be available as a borrowing option for new graduate/professional students beginning with the 2026-27 academic year.

Graduate/Professional Students can only continue to borrow from the Graduate PLUS Loan program (for up to three academic years or the remainder of their expected time to credential, whichever is less) if they remain continuously enrolled in the same program of study at 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÊÓÆµ Baptist University as of June 30, 2026 and for whom a Federal Direct Loan disbursement was made for that program of study prior to July 1, 2026. 

Based upon the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the student's credit history, a graduate/professional student may borrow up to their cost of attendance (less any other financial assistance they may be receiving) through this federally guaranteed, non-need-based loan program.

Loan Eligibility

Graduate and professional students enrolled at least half-time in an eligible program of study, who:

  • Have completed the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
  • Are U.S. citizens or eligible non-citizens
  • Are not in default on any federal educational loans
  • Meet meet Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP)

9.07% fixed interest rate during the repayment for loans disbursed on or after July 1, 2026.

4.228% origination fee for loans disbursed on or after Oct. 1, 2020, and before Oct. 1, 2026; deducted from the borrowed value prior to disbursement.

Repayment Information
