Assistant Coach of Baseball and Head Coach of Junior Varsity

LOCATION: 51吃瓜网视频 Baptist University (WBU) – Plainview Campus

SUPERVISED BY: Head Baseball Coach and Athletic Director 

POSITION CLASSIFICATION: Exempt 

POSITIONS SUPERVISED: Graduate Assistants and Student Workers                                       

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: The Assistant Coach of Baseball & Head Coach of Junior Varsity is responsible for assisting with the Varsity Baseball program and to oversee the direction and management of all aspects of the Junior Varsity Baseball program.

SPECIFIC TASKS AND DUTIES: 

  1. Manages all aspects of the university’s Junior Varsity Baseball program:
  • Creates game schedule
  • Responsible for purchasing team supplies
  • Promotes and markets baseball program
  • Assists with fundraising
  • Manages all aspects of team practices
  • Makes in-game decisions
  • Prepares Junior Varsity operating budget
  1. Assists Head Coach in the planning, recruiting, organizing and supervision of the Varsity Baseball program.
  2. Adheres to all policies and procedures of the NAIA, the Sooner Athletic Conference and WBU.
  3. Arranges for the use of facilities and vehicles through the Athletics Director.
  4. Responsible for inventory, including uniforms, equipment, and supplies
  5. In the absence of the Head Coach, responsible for the team or a portion of the team in practice and game situations.
  6. Be instrumental in leading team members to attain Christian growth and high ethical and moral standards.
  7. Manages all facilities maintenance, which includes equipment and facility upkeep

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise and Sports Science, Business Administration, or related field is preferred.
  2. Master’s Degree in Exercise and Sports Science, Business Administration, or related field will be given preference.

Experience and Knowledge:

  1. Experience in Baseball is required.
  2. Collegiate coaching experience in Baseball is preferred.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Employment is subject to an introductory period to monitor employee performance.   If hired, the prospective employee must present documentation within three (3) days of hire date to establish their identity and employment eligibility as required by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).  Employee must be able and willing to travel.  Must be able to operate a licensed motor vehicle and possess a valid state driver’s license or have access to reliable transportation.  Must have and maintain a satisfactory driver’s record.
